Honorable mentions

QB C.J. Beathard (stock up)

While it’s undeniable he’s the third-best quarterback on the roster, QB C.J. Beathard gets a stock up due to the possibility that the team could take three quarterbacks into Week 1.

Beathard didn’t shine in the finale but he wasn’t awful either, and he showed his toughness with a key block on Wilson’s touchdown run, which demonstrates why the team loves him.

QB Wilton Speight (stock down)

Fellow QB Wilton Speight may make the practice squad out of necessity, but he really didn’t look like an NFL-quality quarterback in the preseason finale.

WR Deebo Samuel (stock up)

Head coach Kyle Shanahan said that WR Deebo Samuel did enough to be considered in the mix to start for Week 1. Big tick up for Deebo.

TE Ross Dwelley (stock up)

Tight end Ross Dwelley didn’t play, but Shanahan said point-blank that he’ll be on the final roster, so stock up for the young tight end.

LB Mark Nzeocha (stock up)

If Greenlaw isn’t a starter in Week 1, it may be LB Mark Nzeocha, who finished the preseason with an interception against the Chargers. At worst, he should be a backup with valuable starting experience from last season.

LB Azeez Al-Shaair (stock up)

With Smith being released, linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair could find his way onto the final roster. He’s been very impressive in the preseason and he’s the undrafted free agent I can see making the cut for the 49ers in 2019.
