No. 2: Wide Receiver Trent Taylor’s Resurgence

It’s been refreshing to watch Trent Taylor look far more like the promising receiver he was his rookie season, as opposed to the injured and hardly effective slot wideout he was a year ago.

Taylor has been nothing short of dynamic during training camp, regularly serving as a top target during practices and, just as importantly, regaining that relationship he had with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo back in 2017.

There’s a strong chance Taylor winds up recapturing a key third-down role, not unlike what he was back during his rookie campaign.

But as NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco pointed out, Taylor could wind up being more than just a third-down weapon in 2019:

That’s quite the prediction.

After the first four days of training camp, however, it’s not hard to see why Maiocco is buying Taylor’s stock this season.

Speaking of Garoppolo, though…
