Which 49ers legend would you want on the current roster?

Safety: Ronnie Lott

Yet here is the player I would add to the 49ers current roster, over Sanders. Ronnie Lott could do it all, and he would do it all if it meant getting a win.

Lott’s extreme talent is matched by his versatility. Early in his career, Lott was a great cornerback and then he shifted over to free safety, where he solidified his place as an all-time great. Lott had exceptional ball skills, nabbing 10 interceptions in 1986 as a free safety, and he packed a punch, forcing three fumbles that same year.

But most importantly, Lott would fill what is an obvious hole in the 49ers roster. Adrian Colbert and Tarvarius Moore have flashed signs of potential, but they are the clear weak link on the current roster. Lott could make what is the greatest weakness a major strength.

Then his versatility would allow the 49ers to play around with the secondary.
