Tight End

George Kittle

There’s a relatively new addition to this list of all-time 49ers greats, and it’s tight end George Kittle after such an impressive 2018 campaign.

Kittle, the Niners’ fifth-round pick from the 2017 NFL Draft, had a productive season his rookie year, setting a modern-era NFL record for the most receiving yards (515) by a tight end drafted in Round 5 or later.

But that was only the start.

Kittle answered back with another record-setting season in 2018, picking up 1,377 receiving yards and breaking the all-time single-season record for tight ends previously held by the New England Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski.

When you set records in such impressive fashion, you get on this list.
