Running Back

Halfback: Frank Gore

Fullback: Roger Craig

Another 49ers all-time selection shouldn’t be much of a surprise.

Running back Frank Gore, who departed the 49ers prior to the 2015 season, ended up becoming the franchise’s all-time leading rusher and was one of the pinnacles of the offense after being drafted in Round 3 of the 2005 NFL draft.

Gore was on some bad teams during that span, which makes his feat exceptionally noteworthy given how, frequently, he was the lone San Francisco offensive weapon.

Alongside Gore on the all-time team is fullback, yes fullback, Roger Craig.

Craig served as San Francisco’s fullback from 1983 through 1987 before switching over to halfback, and he accumulated a ton of yards during that span including 1,050 in 1985.

Like Gore, Craig went on to have a successful career after the 49ers, but his best days were spent in San Francisco.

Backups:

Halfback: Joe Perry

Fullback: Tom Rathman
