No. 1: MORE Injury concerns

This is just my clever ploy to hide what will be the biggest storyline in 49ers training camp: the return of Jimmy Garoppolo.

Garoppolo’s career has been a lot like a pendulum, so far, starting with him being on the bench, to playing really well for two games, to being on the bench some more, to lighting the world on fire as the 49ers starting QB to getting hurt.

Coming back from a torn ACL is hard, and it does take a toll on a player. However, people can still play exceptionally well following said injury, For examples, search under Brady, Tom. However, the injury only covers what is a major question with Jimmy G: What is his talent level?

We’ve seen a player tear up the best defense in the league to another who threw three interceptions and almost threw a game away. Garoppolo has flashed signs of greatness, but he hasn’t played long enough to show if it’s legit or not.

Garoppolo’s health and success this year will decide if the 49ers make the playoffs. To some, that sounds like massive hyperbole; to others, it’s an obvious fact. With talent around him, a defense that can hopefully lock down other teams, and a genius as his play caller, it’s put up or shut up for Jimmy G.

Because if the 49ers are picking top five in the NFL Draft again next year, chances are they’ll be taking a quarterback to replace him.
