Cornerback. LSU. Kristian Fulton. 7. player. 50.

The Detroit Lions managed to grab former Penn State cornerback Amani Oruwariye in Round 5 of last year’s NFL Draft, but they could stand to make more than a handful of additional upgrades in the secondary.

Oruwariye only potentially solves one area, and the Lions would be wise to find another young corner to pair with him.

Fortunately, LSU has a long, long history of producing top-quality defensive backs. At 5-foot-10 and 199 pounds, cornerback Kristian Fulton is probably destined for nickel duties. But like many LSU corners, he plays much bigger than his size would indicate.

Fulton would be the kind of player Detroit could build its secondary around, too. He’s a playmaker in the making.
