The Los Angeles Chargers might be one of the most complete teams heading into 2019, and it shouldn’t be shocking to see them legitimately competing for an AFC title. Their pass rush is elite, as long as everyone stays healthy, the Chargers’ linebackers are good.

And those safeties, Derwin James and 2018 NFL Draft pick Nasir Adderley, could be one of the better tandems to watch this season.

So much of the Chargers’ pending success hinges on veteran quarterback Philip Rivers, of course, and he should be hanging onto the starting job for the foreseeable future. But L.A. needs to start thinking about his replacement sooner than later, which leads them to grab one of the second-tier quarterbacking prospects in Michigan’s Shea Patterson, developing him under Rivers’ tutelage for down-the-road use.
