San Francisco 49ers: Way-too-early 53-man roster projections for 2019
Cornerback (7): Richard Sherman, Ahkello Witherspoon, K’Waun Williams, Jason Verrett, Tarvarius Moore, Tim Harris
This are a whole lot of bodies to throw at the cornerback position, but given the state of things over the last few years, it sort of makes sense for the team to have depth at this position.

Richard Sherman is set at one side, but it’s going to be an interesting battle for who gets to start alongside him (excluding K’Waun Williams, who seems pretty locked into the slot corner spot).
Jason Verrett, when healthy, is the most talented option, while Ahkello Witherspoon showed signs of quality in his rookie season before floundering in year two.
Tarvarius Moore was still figuring out a new position last season, having played safety in college. And, of course, the new guy, Tim Harris, will likely have as much chance as anybody to assert himself, as the position seems to be as wide open as any on the team.
So yes, it’s a lot of names at this position. But that doesn’t mean anything when nothing is certain.
Making it even more complicated, names like Greg Mabin, Tarvarus McFadden, and Emmanuel Moseley, along with the new group of UDFAs, including Cameron Glenn out of Wake Forest, are also going to be part of this battle, too.
So yeah, this is a messy group.
