49ers’ Pick with the Biggest “Boom” Potential: Deebo Samuel

It would be easy to say the Niners’ best draftee to become a perennial Pro Bowler would be Nick Bosa.

After all, he was the NFL Draft’s top prospect, and he’ll join an already-stacked defensive line heading into 2019.

But that might also cut into the number of opportunities he gets right out of the gate. On a good note, his presence should open up chances for other 49ers pass-rushers, namely Dee Ford and DeForest Buckner.

Since Bosa would be too easy a choice still, let’s go with Deebo Samuel.

Samuel’s pro-level comparison might be a younger version of a former 49ers wide receiver, Pierre Garçon, who effectively utilized both his route running and physicality with the Washington Redskins during Kyle Shanahan’s tenure as offensive coordinator there.

Matching with both pass catchers Dante Pettis and George Kittle, Samuel could wind up being that kind of go-to weapon the Niners haven’t had at wide receiver since Anquan Boldin back in 2014.

Perhaps even more and for a longer stretch of time.
