Loser: 49ers Wide Receivers not Named Deebo Samuel, Jalen Hurd or Dante Pettis

It’s certainly a good thing the Niners are overhauling their receiving corps, particularly after no 49ers wideout reached 500 receiving yards a season ago.

The only safe name within this group returning from 2018 is second-year pro Dante Pettis, who came on strong late in the year after dealing with injuries early. As for the rest? Well, let’s just say these players, compiled by 49ers.com’s Joe Fann, will have a lot of competition between now and the preseason:

Both Jalen Hurd and Deebo Samuel are all but safe heading into 2019, barring injury or a complete meltdown. Pettis is safe, too.

As for the rest? It’s certainly hard to tell.

There are some receivers who look to be on the stronger side of the bubble. Aside from those three previously mentioned, however, the fact the remainder are all on the bubble, in one way or another, is a bad thing.

At least competition is good, though, right?
