49ers 2019 NFL Draft: 3 things to know about Deebo Samuel
Samuel has the ability to produce on offense
With no 49ers wide receiver surpassing 500-receiving-yards in the 2018 season, Samuel may just be the man to turn that around.
Samuel was on track to have a break-out junior year; however, his season was cut short due to injury. From just three games, he accrued 250-receiving-yards from 15 receptions, averaging 16.7 yards per reception and three touchdowns. He also recorded 30-rushing-yards from two attempts with one touchdown.
He turned it around in 2018, finishing his senior year with 62 receptions for 882 yards, with 14.2 yards per reception and 11 touchdowns. Throughout the course of his college career, he combined for a total of 23 receiving and rushing touchdowns.
With his ability to separate and gain valuable yards after the catch often leading to points, Samuel should produce the goods while under Shanahan’s tutelage.
