Stock up: Justin Layne, Cornerback, Michigan State

Another defensive back who has used the draft process to raise his stock is Michigan State cornerback Justin Layne, who now has a chance to be a high second-round selection and maybe even possibly sneak into the back of the first round.

Walter Football has reported teams are very high on the Spartan product, saying:

"Layne has gone under the radar to a degree leading up to the 2019 NFL Draft, but sources from teams picking early in the second round have Layne in the running to be their second-round pick. Layne is a big corner who has quickness and athleticism. Teams like his upside and feel he could compete quickly. Layne could end up being one of the first players off the board on Friday night of the 2019 NFL Draft."

All 32 teams watched him work out, and most of those teams also interviewed him. Layne is a player with his stock heavily on the rise, and possibly in the 49ers’ plans.

The Niners will find it hard not to at least consider adding to their cornerback stocks, Layne is in play as a guy who has put himself on the radar late.
