Ranking the 49ers’ 5 most exciting games on 2019 NFL schedule

No. 2: Week 17 @ Seattle Seahawks
The 49ers finally ended that elongated losing streak to the Seattle Seahawks last season, beating their NFC West division rivals at Levi’s Stadium 26-23 on an overtime game-winning field goal by kicker Robbie Gould.
Still, the Niners haven’t won at CenturyLink Field in Seattle since the days of quarterback Alex Smith, back in 2011, to be exact.
The San Francisco-Seattle rivalry has died down a lot since its heyday earlier this decade, yet that doesn’t mean there’s a lack of bad blood between players and fans. Especially considering the raucous atmosphere at CenturyLink Field.
And remember, the Niners were throttled 43-16 the last time they played in Seattle.
The location and context of this matchup should make for an exciting contest, sure. But consider when it takes place: Week 17.
It’s anyone’s guess what the Seahawks and 49ers will be playing for by this point in the season. Perhaps one is a spoiler, while the other is gunning for playoff seeding. Maybe both are in the postseason picture, hoping to gain an extra advantage heading into the playoffs.
Maybe both teams are out of it, merely looking for offseason bragging rights.
Whatever the case, Week 17 should be pretty exciting for all the right reasons.
