2019 NFL Draft: Full Round 1 mock with trades, April Fools’ version
By Peter Panacy
After moving down with the Broncos, the Buccaneers can now focus even more assets on upgrading their underperforming defense, which needs help at all three levels.
That’s partially a good position to be in, especially with a deep pass-rushing class and a good enough crop of defensive backs to be had with later picks. Right now, it’s about maximizing value and finding the best player available.
In this case, that player is linebacker Devin White.
White is the epitome of today’s run-stopping linebacker with both pass-coverage skills and pass-rushing abilities. He’s a multifaceted tool capable of doing any number of different teams, and the Bucs would be wise to build around him.
After losing linebacker Kwon Alexander in free agency to the 49ers, grabbing a player like White at No. 10 overall in the NFL Draft would be a sweet, sweet thing.
