No. 2: Safety Nasir Adderley

As I previously mentioned, the 49ers negated to pick up a safety during free agency. Instead deciding to re-sign defensive back Jimmie Ward and safety Antone Exum. Given the still lack of skill among the position and the unknown surrounding Ward and his susceptibility to injuries, there’s a good chance the Niners draft a safety in the first few rounds.

Should they look to Round 2 to pick up a safety, Nasir Adderley provides the necessary skills and ability the 49ers should be wanting.

Out of Delaware, Adderley steps in at 6-foot and 206 pounds. 2018 saw him come away with a combined total of 87 tackles, one forced fumble and fumble recovery and four interceptions. Much like Mack Wilson, Adderley brings with him the ability to contest the ball and cause turnovers.

Not only is Adderley skilled at safety, but he also has experience lining up at cornerback, somewhat of an added bonus for teams looking to draft him. He has the agility, speed and explosiveness to close with or chase opponents and has little difficulty changing direction.

He has a high football intelligence with the aptitude to track and contest the ball, finishing with a great tackling technique.
