29. player. 124. . Safety. Washington. Taylor Rapp

The Kansas City Chiefs were capable of getting a ton of sacks last year, yet their pass defense still ranked second worst in this category over the course of 2018.

Cover guys are needed, and at both levels. A boundary cornerback here would be wise, yet the lack of value makes that pick somewhat questionable. The good news, however, is there are a few safeties, who have either slipped from earlier consideration or have seen their stock levels rise the past few weeks.

One in the latter group would be Washington’s Taylor Rapp, who is still on the fringes between Rounds 1 and 2, but he could end up being the selection here for a safety tandem that has been riddled with both injury and inconsistency the past two years.

EDGE Dee Ford likely returns in one way or another, but that would probably mean fellow defender Justin Houston is on his way out. The Chiefs likely address that pending departure later.
