San Francisco 49ers: Top 10 Super Bowl moments in franchise history
No. 3: “The Drive” in Super Bowl XXIII
We’ve alluded to it already. Remember Jerry Rice’s key 27-yard catch in Super Bowl XXIII against the Bengals?
Well, how about the entire drive itself?
With 3:10 left in the game, the 49ers put together the most famous drive in Super Bowl history. The drive started on the Niners 8-yard line and culminated in a John Taylor touchdown catch.
And it was all engineered by the late actor, John Candy.
The drive showcased Joe Montana’s cool under pressure and secured the 49ers’ third Lombardi trophy.
