2019 NFL Draft: Full two-round mock for all 32 teams, Super Bowl edition
By Peter Panacy
The Los Angeles Chargers find themselves in a fortunate position of being under the radar after a promising 2018 season yet not boasting too many needs on either side of the ball.
Oh, and safety Derwin James wound up being a pretty good NFL Draft pick last year, too.
Defense should still be L.A.’s top priority during the offseason, though. Especially when one considers the Chargers will have to face quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs twice a year. That’s not fun.
Beefing up the defensive line should be a good way to go late in Round 1. Notre Dame defensive tackle Jerry Tillery is versatile, capable of lining up at multiple spots in various packages. That should help matters a lot, and Tillery’s presence will also allow the Chargers to part ways with aging veteran defensive tackle Brandon Mebane.
