Pick 97: Jordan Miller, Cornerback, Washington

Previous pick: Jordan Miller, Cornerback, Washington

Along with Bosa, University of Washington cornerback Jordan Miller is my second repeat pick from my previous mock draft. Like Bosa, Miller fits San Francisco’s defensive scheme perfectly as the team continues to set up for the future.

49ers cornerback Richard Sherman won’t last forever, and the 49ers would be wise to find him an heir apparent to groom.

Cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon is one of the team’s players for the future and fellow corner Tarvarius Moore showed some promise during his rookie season, but Miller would be a wise pick for San Francisco if the defensive back is available in the middle rounds of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Miller doesn’t excel in one particular area but he also doesn’t many liabilities. The rookie would have one of the best mentors in the league in Sherman to teach him the tricks of the trade.

Miller may not start right away, but he can develop while playing a serviceable backup role in his first year in the NFL.
