No changes here from what the 49ers carried on their offensive line for the vast majority of 2018. San Francisco’s first pick from the 2018 NFL Draft, right tackle Mike McGlinchey, ended up winning NFC West Rookie of the Year honors. And while he can still afford to polish his pass blocking, there’s little doubting him being an anchor of this unit for years to come.
And it looks as if veteran left tackle Joe Staley can still hang around a few more years despite entering a contract year in 2019.
Singed to long-term deals, interior linemen Laken Tomlinson and Weston Richburg aren’t going anywhere, either.
There is a move to be made, however. Right guard Mike Person is a pending free agent after signing a one-year deal with San Francisco in 2018. While the name recognition isn’t there, per se, Person ended up being the 18th ranked guard out of 79 qualifiers last year, according to Pro Football Focus (h/t Niner Noise).
He also allowed just one sack, which was by far the lowest among all of San Francisco’s starters up front.
