2019 NFL Draft: Complete two-round mock for every team, New Year’s Day version
By Peter Panacy
Like the Vikings, the Pittsburgh Steelers have to be viewed as another one of the NFL’s biggest disappointments this season after many viewed them as another serious AFC contender.
Missing the playoffs points to a number of different problems, and one could argue the Steelers still haven’t recovered from the loss of linebacker Ryan Shazier to his back injury late in 2017. Targeting a linebacker here could make some sense, but there are bigger needs within the secondary.
Trying to manage with former first-round cornerback Artie Burns didn’t work, and he’s long since been ousted from a starting job. The good news, however, is Georgia cornerback Deandre Baker is available here at No. 20.
Baker is a plug-and-play defensive back, capable of playing the boundary or even bumping inside to nickel if need be.
