No. 2: 49ers run game to take center stage

The once-stout Seahawks defense is no more. While still ranked eighth in points allowed, there are areas that can be exploited. Running the football is one of those areas. Seattle is ranked 22nd in the NFL in yards per game against their opponents’ rushing attacks.

This is where running back Matt Breida comes into play.

The 49ers have established one of the best young offensive lines in football this season. Improving pass blockers, they excel at grading the road for their running backs. The fifth-best rushing attack in yards per game, the 49ers need to do more of the same against Seattle.

Given such a great opportunity against a fairly porous Seahawks run defense, if the 49ers gain 150 yards or more on the ground, I predict victory.

For San Francisco, this is only slightly higher than their average yards per game of 134.
