49ers vs. Seahawks: 5 ways San Francisco can win in Week 13
No. 3: Contain Seattle’s ground game
Above all else, the rushing attack of the Seahawks is what has propelled them their somewhat surprising 6-5 record. Currently first in the NFL averaging just above 147 yards per game, the Seahawks run game must be contained for the 49ers to have a shot.
While deficient with the pass rush, the 49ers defense has fared better against opponent’s rushing attacks. At 10th in the NFL, allowing just above 102 yards per game, it has been a joint effort for San Francisco’s defense. Linebackers and safeties along with the defensive line have all made plays against opposing rushers.
The 49ers will win this Week 13 matchup if they keep the Seahawks to less than 100 yards rushing.
In what is a battle of strengths for each team, success will most likely be determined by the coaches’ ability to put his players in a position to succeed.
