30. . EDGE. Kentucky. Josh Allen. 4. player

The New York Jets also invested heavily in a quarterback, Sam Darnold, in last year’s NFL Draft. Prudence would dictate they now look to provide him with some much-needed weapons.

Unfortunately, there’s just not enough offensive value at this point in the draft to warrant such a selection.

Fortunately, a lack of a pass rush in 2018 is something the Jets need to address early and will have the means to do so with their first pick. Ranked No. 4 on Mel Kiper’s current big board, Kentucky EDGE Josh Allen looks like an excellent pickup.

Allen has been other worldly this season, already doubling his seven-sack efforts in 2017 with 14.0 this season. And his 6-foot-5, 260-pound frame is ideal for a strong outside pass-rusher to give New York’s defense some much-needed thump.

Considering the Jets have just 22 sacks on the year, ranked 26th in the league through 12 weeks, passing on Allen would be nearly impossible.
