27. player. 10. . Offensive Tackle. Washington. Trey Adams

The Houston Texans need to do a much better job protecting quarterback Deshaun Watson. According to Football Outsiders, the Texans offensive line ranks next to last in pass protection with a whopping 37 sacks allowed.

There are other needs here, sure. Bolstering the running game would be nice, and the secondary isn’t quite complete. But after a slow start to the regular season, Houston’s window for a possible championship run is opening right now.

It’s time to make sure the team’s best offensive investment of late, Watson, remains upright.

Washington offensive tackle Trey Adams looks to be a player who could slip into the back end of Round 1. He’s nowhere near the caliber of tackle like, let’s say, Jonah Williams. But he has the upside to emerge as a quality starter in a year’s time. While he plays with a pad level that’s a bit too high, at times, his 6-foot-7 frame is certainly good enough in a power scheme. And his lateral quickness is something that could be improved with some proper footwork technique.
