No. 4: Cornerback Richard Sherman

Name recognition certainly helps, and veteran cornerback Richard Sherman has that and then some.

While it’s possible the five-time Pro Bowler could be overlooked in some circles, perhaps due to the lack of forced turnovers (zero so far in 2018), Sherman has made his presence known in San Francisco’s defense for a variety of other ways.

Chiefly, shutting down the vast majority of pass opportunities in his direction. And when he has been targeted, Sherman is still performing at a very high level.

Just ask Rotoworld’s Evan Silva:

OK, so Sherman might not quite be the same player during the Seattle Seahawks’ vaunted “Legion of Boom” days. But there’s no getting around the fact the 30-year-old veteran has been one of the best defensive backs in the league this season, in terms of shutting down one side of the field.

Combined with the Hall of Fame-worthy résumé, Sherman should have little trouble getting his sixth Pro Bowl nod.
