Richard Sherman. 5. team. 42. . Cornerback.

K’Waun Williams might have put forth a nice season. But he’s still not San Francisco’s best cornerback.

The Niners’ best, of course, is Richard Sherman. And despite being limited to just seven games, coming out early in two of them, Sherman has maintained his ability of shutting down his side of the field to great effect.

Remember, he has only been targeted 20 times this season. That’s an insanely low number.

Consider these Pro Football Focus numbers from earlier in the year:

Those numbers are a little higher now, obviously, as Sherman has allowed nine catches on those 20 targets. But opposing quarterbacks are still posting a passer rating of just 69.4, per PFF.

Yep, that’s still elite.
