No. 3: Pierre Garçon vs. Kevin King

Last season, veteran wide receiver Pierre Garçon established a nice little rapport with C.J. Beathard before the former was lost to a season-ending neck injury halfway through 2017.

Look for that to start developing again in Week 6.

Garçon and the Niners wideouts haven’t exactly established themselves as reliable weapons this far through the year. Through five weeks, Garçon still leads all 49ers wide receivers with 188 receiving yards, but that number isn’t exactly impressive.

Fortunately for Garçon and Beathard, the veteran pass catcher will frequently find himself lining up against Packers cornerback Kevin King, who is arguably the weakest link in Green Bay’s secondary.

King’s tenure at the NFL level has been marked by inconsistent play and injuries. The Packers’ top pick from the 2018 NFL Draft certainly hasn’t lived up to the expectations of being a shutdown corner.

All that means is Garçon has a juicy opportunity to take advantage of a mismatch.
