NFL power rankings: 32-team overreactions heading into Week 2
By Peter Panacy
Sunday night, Aaron Rodgers showed why he’s worth every penny of that massive contract extension he signed not long ago.
The Packers’ come-from-behind win on Sunday Night Football was something out of a Hollywood movie. Their star quarterback goes down with what appears to be a serious injury. Green Bay is trailing bad, fans look shocked in the stands and all is lost, right?
Only Rodgers, the hero, comes back in on one leg and somehow wills the Packers to 21 fourth-quarter points and a shocking finale at Lambeau Field.
Straight out of a movie in prime time.
There isn’t much else that could be said of Rodgers’ 286-yard, three-touchdown performance. It was epic. That’s it.
Ideally, the Packers would prefer to avoid such a storyline finish in a divisional bout. Falling behind early to an upstart Bears team didn’t look good at all, and Rodgers’ health is going to remain a major concern considering how important he is to Green Bay’s chances this season.
Still, that was a fun game to watch.
