NFL power rankings: 32-team overreactions heading into Week 2

There’s no way around it. The Dallas Cowboys offense looks terrible right now, and it’s hurting from having a banged-up offensive line also missing center Travis Frederick (illness).

As a result, quarterback Dak Prescott and Co. were barely able to get anything going against a good-but-questionable Carolina Panthers’ defense in Week 1, which results in a notable fall in our NFL power rankings this week.

The eight points is surprising. So is the mere 232 yards of total offense.

Running back Ezekiel Elliott struggled to get anything going until late, when he finally capped off a drive with Dallas’ lone touchdown of the game. And while one should give credit to the Cowboys defense for limiting Panthers quarterback Cam Newton and a new-look offense under coordinator Norv Turner, one can’t help but worry about Dallas’ own offensive woes after this first week.
