30. . W, 48-17 @ Lions. Previous: . New York Jets. 24. team

New York Jets rookie quarterback Sam Darnold’s NFL debut on Monday Night Football didn’t exactly go according to plan, as he ended up throwing a pick six the Detroit Lions ran in for a touchdown on the very first snap from scrimmage.

That was Darnold’s lone major gaffe however, and he rebounded nicely over the remaining contest in Detroit.

Darnold was 16-of-21 for 198 yards and two touchdowns against the interception for a passer rating of 116.8 — not bad for a first start. Not bad at all.

And the Jets managed to score on all phases of the ball too in the lopsided 48-17 victory. There were offensive touchdowns, obviously, a pick-six touchdown as well as a punt return that went for a touchdown too.

Pretty impressive for a Jets team many thought were still in the early phases of a complete rebuild.
