Offensive Line

Center: Weston Richburg

Guard: Laken Tomlinson, Mike Person, Joshua Garnett, Erik Magnuson, Matt Tobin

Tackle: Joe Staley, Mike McGlinchey, Garry Gilliam, Shon Coleman

Interestingly enough, the 49ers offensive line appeared to come together much better than anticipated earlier this offseason.

There were namely questions at guard, where Mike Person, Joshua Garnett and Jonathan Cooper were competing for the right spot. Cooper didn’t survive roster cuts. And despite Garnett having a strong preseason, Kyle Shanahan gave all the overtures Person won the starting gig over Garnett heading towards Week 1.

Person, who can play all five spots along the O-line, adds flexibility too. So does second-year pro Erik Magnuson, who was initially destined for injured reserve with a hamstring injury. According to NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco, however, it doesn’t look as if that will have to be the case:

San Francisco also brought aboard offensive tackle Shon Coleman via a trade with the Cleveland Browns. It’s anyone’s guess what this means for swing tackle Garry Gilliam.

For now, though, Gilliam is aboard with Coleman looking over his shoulder.
