San Francisco 49ers: 5 players likely to get cut before Week 1

No. 3: Wide Receiver Aldrick Robinson

After a disappointing 2017 season, wide receiver Aldrick Robinson has actually performed quite well so far this training camp and preseason. He looks like a player ready to right his wrongs from last year and make a true comeback season.

However, that season won’t be on the 49ers.

Robinson’s spot on this list does not have to do with his level of play — it’s just the immense depth and overload of promising talent that the 49ers have at the receiver position, which feels so good to say.

There is Pierre Garcon, Marquise Goodwin, Trent Taylor, Dante Pettis, Kendrick Bourne, Richie James and Aaron Burbridge all competing against Robinson to make the roster. All seven of them are more valuable to this team and how it’s developing.

If Robinson does indeed get cut, the team that picks him up after will be getting a motivated player looking to have a bounce-back season.
