No. 3: Safety Ronnie Lott

Hall of Fame safety Ronnie Lott was, perhaps, the hardest-hitting defender to play in the NFL during the 49ers glory years of the 1980s.

The former USC product played 10 seasons with the 49ers after being selected at No. 8 overall by the team in the 1981 NFL Draft. In his rookie season, Lott earned First-Team All-Pro accolades and did so again a total of four more times in San Francisco.

He also earned Pro Bowl nods 10 times out of his 14-year career.

Lott would go on to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000. But before he made the trip to Canton, Lott would spend two seasons with the Oakland Raiders (1991 and 1992) as well as two more with the New York Jets in 1993 and 1994.

Seeing Lott cross San Francisco Bay to Oakland must have been a painful memory, especially considering Lott was again named as an All-Pro his first year with the silver and black.
