Niner Noise breaks down the toughest players the San Francisco 49ers have to face this season, as they fight to become a playoff team yet again.

It’s no secret that for the San Francisco 49ers, optimism is really high.

But of course, the teams that they face aren’t exactly going to swoon and lay down for them.

All seasons have marquee games in them, and the 49ers have several opponents who would love nothing more than to put out the fire of optimism that’s raging, not only throughout the team and its fanbase, but the analysts and media who are starting to jump on the bandwagon.

The 49ers face several elite stars in the NFL, all of them gunning for the playoffs and beyond themselves, so let’s rank the top five San Francisco will have to contend with this upcoming season.
