No season has ever gone by according to the book, and the San Francisco 49ers are no exception. Here we look at some possible surprises and bold predictions for 2018.

Excitement is high for the San Francisco 49ers.

The quarterback is in place, there’s some good young players on the team and they have the benefit of the kindest schedule in the NFC West.

But it doesn’t matter how optimistic or pessimistic you are, it’s a given that no season goes exactly how you envision.

There’s always some surprises that play out for the season, and I’m going to try to predict some now.
