Special Teams

Kicker: Joe Nedney

Punter: Andy Lee

Long-Snapper: Brian Jennings

Few surprises here.

Special teams rarely get much love, but the 49ers have had some memorable special teamers over their franchise history.

Starting off with the last player ever selected by the late, great Bill Walsh, long-snapper Brian Jennings spent his entire 13-year career in San Francisco and performed his all but thankless duties with near perfection. The tenure alone is worth the all-time nod, but it helps he was pretty good at it too.

Punter Andy Lee is an easy choice too. He was named to the Pro Bowl three times, also earning three first-team All-Pro selections, during his Niners tenure. And many of those nods were during the dark, dreary days of the last decade.

There’s a bit of a tossup between kickers Joe Nedney and longtime 49er Ray Wersching. But considering Nedney’s 86.6 field-goal percentage to Wersching’s 72.8, the choice is much easier to make.

Nedney gets the nod.
