Round 15: K Harrison Butker, Kansas City Chiefs
In the final round, we select our kicker — Harrison Butker, of the Kansas City Chiefs — although we’ll usually pass on a drafting a kicker if our league format allows it, and instead grab a waiver-wire kicker prior to the start of the season.
Butker had an excellent rookie year in 2017, ending the season as the sixth-best kicker in fantasy football. Butker made over 90 percent of his field-goal attempts and each of his 28 extra-point attempts, but Kansas City’s offense will look different this year after the exit of quarterback Alex Smith.
If a Patrick Mahomes-led offense provides fewer attempts for the second-year kicker, we won’t hesitate to use the waiver wire for an easy upgrade at the position.
