Quarter 2: Front Office (John Lynch, Paraag Marathe, Adam Peters, Martin Mayhew)

Alright, now onto the football stuff.

The second quarter of the event kicked off with John Lynch getting asked about linebacker Reuben Foster and his dropped charges of domestic violence and interfering with someone trying to call the police. Lynch announced Foster will return to the team facilities tomorrow and start practicing with the team. A “Reuben” chant then erupted, which visibly made Lynch look very uncomfortable.

I like this strict attitude Lynch is giving to Foster. Yes, the domestic violence accusations were proven false, but there is still the dumb small stuff that Foster committed this offseason, such as the weapons and marijuana charges, which will most likely give Foster a suspension of some sort.

This strictness Lynch is employing will help keep Foster on his best behavior and out of trouble.

Moving on from Foster, Paraag Marathe, the 49ers contract genius, cracked some jokes on how Richard Sherman was such a great agent for himself, knowing every cornerback contract in the entire league.

Adam Peters and Martin Mayhew, who assist Lynch in scouting, said the usual stuff that you would normally expect scouts to say, but what really got my attention during this quarter was Lynch talking about how important Peters and Mayhew are in this talent evaluation process.

We always talk about players in the locker room sharing bonds with each other to improve their chemistry on the field, but you can tell that the bond between Lynch, Peters, Mayhew and head coach Kyle Shanahan are equally as strong, greatly helping them in their process.
