Pick No. 27: Mike Weber, Running Back, Ohio State

Well this one is out of left field, but let’s hear it out:

"The 49ers have invested mid-round picks and free-agent dollars to the position, but it might take a first-round running back to complete their offense. Weber is one of a few running backs who might earn first-round consideration in 2019."

My take

It’s hard to see the 49ers taking a running back in the first round when the 49ers just gave Jerick McKinnon a contract to be the starter. Matt Breida is firmly entrenched as the second running back and possible starter also.

Mike Weber hasn’t been used much at Ohio State; last season he ran only 96 times for 608 yards   touchdowns. He isn’t a factor in the passing game either, with only nine catches for 78 yards, 53 of those yards came on one play.

It’s hard to see this happening.
