Indianapolis Colts

Projected 2018 Starter: ???

The hope for the Indianapolis Colts will be Andrew Luck finally returning to his quarterbacking duties after an elongated shoulder injury.

Same situation as a year ago at this time.

Luck missed all of 2017 with this shoulder injury, although reports out of Indianapolis suggest he’ll be ready for the start of training camp.

Ready is one thing. Able to compete at his old level is another.

Luck will assuredly have rust when he returns. And even that is a best-case scenario, considering the numerous times we’ve heard he’ll be back sooner than later. A setback? That would be pretty horrible.

Unless you’re banking on No. 2 QB Jacoby Brissett being a long-term fixture.

At least the Colts elected to address their shaky offensive line, grabbing Notre Dame offensive guard Quenton Nelson at No. 6 overall in the NFL Draft. That should make whoever starts this season under center a bit more comfortable.

But with the seemingly endless question marks about Luck, another missed season would prompt Indy into the market for a quarterback next year.
