5 NFL teams likely in the market for a new quarterback in 2019

Miami Dolphins
Projected 2018 Starter: Ryan Tannehill
The Miami Dolphins are going through a massive overhaul on both sides of the ball, headlined by moving wide receiver Jarvis Landry and defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh this offseason.
It’s clear head coach Adam Gase’s squad is going through the opening phases of a rebuild, and one can only suspect it will eventually involve quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
The 29 year old is signed through 2020, and there’s no way the Dolphins cut him this year. Especially when it would cost over $21 million in dead money. But 2019 is a bit more doable, and cutting Tannehill in 2020 would save Miami nearly $20 million in cap space.
That means this year is essentially a prove-it season for Tannehill. And he’ll have to manage with a sub-par cast, hopefully showing he can bounce back from a season-long injury last year and truly live up to the franchise-type expectations placed upon him.
The chances of this working out, though, don’t appear very good. Signs are pointing to Tannehill being an eventual part of the wholesale changes taking place.
Yet the move will happen when it’s financially plausible, meaning next year at the earliest.
