7. Mike Rumph, Defensive Back, Miami

The 49ers really seem to have it bad with first round defensive backs, given that this is the third in a row on this list.

Defensive back Mike Rumph was envisioned as a great cover corner for the 49ers when they drafted him 27th overall in 2002.

The problem was, he couldn’t really cover.

He was moved to safety, but despite the best effort of the Niners, he was never a good player.

The 49ers traded him to the Washington Redskins, where he would play there and the (then) St. Louis Rams before leaving the league by 2006.
