No. 5: Mike McGlinchey

I interrupt this slideshow looking through the past to look at the future of the team.

Call me crazy, but I think 2018 NFL draftee Mike McGlinchey will cement his name in 49ers lore. This team led by Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch is poised to start a dynasty — and McGlinchey will be a crucial part to this future success.

If all turns out as well as I hope, McGlinchey will fulfill all my selection criteria for this list — becoming a great offensive tackle, staying healthy and most of all, bringing plenty of Lombardi Trophies back to San Francisco.

Can you tell I’m salivating for the 2018 season? Bring it on, NFL!
