Wide Receiver Dante Pettis

It is no secret as to why head coach Kyle Shanahan likes Dante Pettis as a wide receiver for his offense.

Pettis is as close as you can get to the epitome of a Kyle Shanahan receiver — good hands, quickness, versatility and excellent route running.

There is no doubt Pettis will see a lot of playing time on the field. Shanahan will try to utilize him as much as possible, whether if it is substituting him in for Pierre Garcon or Marquise Goodwin to give them breathers or putting him in empty receiver sets.

Oh yeah, and it is pretty much a guarantee he takes over Trent Taylor‘s job of returning kicks and punts.

As a result, I have pretty gaudy expectations for Pettis. I predict that the ex-Washington Husky will amass 600 receiving yards on 40 receptions and score three touchdowns on punt returns.

He will not have as great of a rookie season as Kansas City Chiefs offensive tool Tyreek Hill, whom I wish him to become, but those stats I just said should not be a disappointment to any player, coach or fan of the organization.
