50. . Last Rank: 18. . Detroit Lions. 21. team

Best Pick: RB Kerryon Johnson, Auburn

The Detroit Lions managed a draft haul of just six players, and only two — center Frank Ragnow (Round 1) and running back Kerryon Johnson (Round 2) — should be viewed as day-one contributors.

That’s OK, for the most part, as Johnson should immediately be a boost to what was the league’s worst rushing offense last season.

Johnson is good, although he probably went a round too early. Ragnow might have been a bit of a reach as well, considering he’s coming off a collegiate injury, and those reasons force the Lions a bit further down our NFL power rankings.

Still, the reinforced offensive line and improved rushing attack should make Detroit’s offense a bit more well rounded, which they’ll need to compete against the tough defense of the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers’ budding secondary.
