Tight End

Starter: George Kittle

Backup: Garrett Celek

Depth: Cole Hikutini, Cole Wick

Tight end George Kittle burst onto the scene and put in one of the best offensive rookie seasons in 2017. Kittle finished with 515 yards on 43 catches and two touchdowns, putting him second in receptions to New York Giants TE Evan Engram, who was taken 123 picks before Kittle in the same 2017 NFL Draft class.

No. 2 tight end Garrett Celek has been a consistent player for the 49ers for the last few seasons. Celek hauled in four touchdown passes in 2017 but will step aside to Kittle in 2018. Look for Celek and Kittle in two-TE sets to be one of the more threatening duos in the league.

Both Cole Hikutini and Cole Wick will be battling for the third backup spot, as I don’t see the 49ers bringing all four players into the season.
