Round 2, Pick 27: Center Billy Price

Every draft prospect’s worst nightmare came alive at the NFL Scouting Combine for Billy Price, who suffered an incomplete tear on his left pectoral muscle.

Price is someone who I have a first-round grade on because of his ability to absolutely maul interior defensive linemen.

With the Rams’ addition of Ndamukong Suh to go along a strong front seven with Aaron Donald, the 49ers — even after signing center Weston Richburg in free agency — to pick up Price to play somewhere along the interior of the offensive line.

Price recently underwent a successful surgery and should be ready to go by training camp. I still expect some teams to be wary of the injury and pass on him, which would allow him to fall to the 49ers in the back end of the second round and pick up a true steal.
