The Washington Redskins will like having quarterback Alex Smith under center this year. Beyond that, though, it’s anyone’s guess. After all, Smith has never truly been a game-changing quarterback and will turn 34 years old by the time the regular season starts.

Combine that with the lack of offensive weapons at Smith’s disposal, and he could be in for a rough season.

But Smith could also be an integral piece to deliver some consistency to Washington’s offense. And adding wide receiver Paul Richardson in free agency could provide nice dividends too.

Washington is fortunate enough to have a relatively weak NFC East to contend with. The Giants are in rebuild mode, and the Dallas Cowboys have more than a few questions to deal with. Only the Eagles are miles away from them in the divisional hunt.
